Uppsala/CLIC X-band Spectrometer (UCXS)
for Xbox Klystron Based Tests Stand(s)
The Uppsala/CLIC X-band Spectrometer (UCXS) has been developed for
detection of the dark and breakdown currents and light emission.
It main goal is to determine the spatial and the energy distribution
of electrons and ions ejected from accelerating structure in
different operating conditions.
The spectrometer consists of a dipole magnet, a pepper-pot
collimator, a fluorescent screen and a fast camera.
Measurements can be correlated with e.g. the location of the
breakdown inside the structure, using information from the incident,
reflected and transmitted RF powers, giving in that way a complete
picture of the vacuum breakdown phenomena.
The UCXS spectrometer is installed at the klystron based 12GHz X-band
test stands (Xbox 1, Xbox 2).
